My academic, professional and personal experience have prepared me for success. With a bachelor's degree in film and media production and a master's degree in journalism and mass communication from ASU, I have developed an extensive skillset in effective storytelling. I am technically trained in mirrorless and DSLR cameras to produce high-quality photo and video, along with Adobe Creative Suite to further produce my work. Writing in the proper AP Style journalistic standard is another facet of what I can contribute to a well rounded story.
Coming from a marginalized community has inspired me to utilize community-centered journalism as a tool for social progression. As a Mexican woman, it is important to me that I participate in representing my culture and communities. I aim to be successful in telling impactful stories that spread awareness on issues faced by the underrepresented.
